Homeschool Conference

It has been a long time since I've been to our state's conference - about 12 years.

For some reason, a few weeks ago I got it in my head I would be attending this year, and I am! Things have just come together to allow my kids and I to go. My senior student will go and see workshops on high school topics, and browse the vendor hall with me. Talk about bonding! She's more excited about the vendors than the workshops. A child after my own heart. :D The younger will be attending the children's program.

We'll attend the homeschool showcase and the graduation, and see if it is something Dancer will want to participate in next year. I'm also hoping to meet up with a homeschooler I've never met before and talk about dual enrollment for homeschoolers. There are some things going on in the state - both good and bad - that probably merits another blog post.

Before the conference, I hope to take them to any number of the sights in the area. There are quite a few fun places that will appeal to both a 17 year old and a 6 year old. Since the conference ends early Saturday afternoon, it's a possibility to take them somewhere afterward before heading home.

All in all, we're making a well-deserved mini-vacation of it!
